Thing to see in the surrounding areas.

• De Hoop Nature Reserve - known for its fauna and flora and the magnificent dunes at Koppie Alleen where the whales come to breed June - November.
• Potberg - walking trails and maybe you’ll see the vultures.
• Malgas - the ferry to pass the Breede River to Witsand/N2
• Bredasdorp - known for the shipwreck museum.
• Arniston / Waenhuiskrans - go and see the big cave and beautiful old fisherman’s houses.
• Cape L’Aughulas - the southern most point of Africa and lighthouse.

Verfheuwel is on the eastern border of the De Hoop Nature Reserve. 4km before Potberg. To go to De Hoop or Koppie Alleen, you have to drive in the direction of Bredasdorp, 6km, turn left to De Hoop, drive another 8 km to the main gate.

We are 4km from Ouplaas, the local shop and 15km from die Breede River. There are nice restaurants in the area.
